In addition to dental implants, Dr. Shapiro is trained in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  His main interests include simple and complex dental extractions, third molars (wisdom teeth) extraction,  bone and soft tissue grafting, and surgical pathology. He also performs facial cosmetic procedures (Botox, fillers, etc.). He performs orthognathic surgery and treats TMJ dysfunction and trauma as well. Dr. Shapiro is also trained in using several types of anesthesia, such as general anesthesia, IV sedation, and nitrous oxide in order to ease the anxiety that so many patients experience when it comes to oral surgery procedures.
